Thickened EntometriumFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 31 Aug 2001 08:17:23 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 25 year old woman who has never had children and has normal periods without any symptoms of abnormal bleeding. During my yearly exam my doctor said my uterus felt big so she sent me for a sonogram. It showed endometrial thickening of 2 cm. Yesterday my doctor did a uterine biopsy and said she was looking for results of either a polyp or uterine cancer. How common is it for a woman of my age to have uterine cancer? If it is a polyp and it is removed, can I still have children? I've read a little about hyperplasia, my doctor did not mention this. Wouldn't this be the most possible thing causing the thickening?
