Some ??? about after care of biopsy site

Good a.m.,

I'm trying to rest from my biopsy yesterday (the best that I can) of my top vaginal wall but I had to come out of hiding for a brief moment resting to ask about some questions about after care of the biopsy site.

Before I ask them though I must say that my dr has stitched my vaginal opening closed for about what seems like about 3 weeks. Since coming home from the biopsy I have been burning quite a bit and it has made it difficult to sit too long a period of time in addition to staying in bed too long.

I know that I can't use the Premarin cream which is an essential part of the treatment for my vulvodynia yet. But now I need to know: Is it too soon to use the lidocaine ointment or jelly on the outside around the suture line (this is what I'm feeling) since I can't go inside? When might I be able to start using the icepacks again? About how long will this burning last for, and how will I know if this burning has gone on too long?

I'm not concerned about bleeding right now as at this time I'm not bleeding thanks to being sewn up for the time being.

Do you have any other things that I can do to help the burning and pain in this area in addition to the meds I'm currently on for pain when it comes to the oral meds?

Thanks for your time. I'm back to my rest period and will answer other posts (if I can help) in a few days.

Take care,

===== Kristy :)
