OragestFrom: Robin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 30 Aug 2001 20:41:30 -0500 (CDT)
Hello.... My Dr. was putting me on Prometrium to try and regulate my cycle, as I have been bleeding off and on every other week. I did not have a period for seven months, and now this (I did not want to make up for lost time!!!). Anyway, I am not able to take Prometrium as I have an allergy to peanuts and peanut oil. So, after much talking between the Drs. office and the Pharmacist, they decided to try Oragest. I have tried to find information on Oragest being used for the purpose I mention above, but am not having much luck. How long will it take for the Oragest to stop my bleeding? Will I have a period after I stop the Oragest? I'm asking this because with Provera (I don't know if they work the same, so I am assuming here), I'd use it to bring on a period. With Prometrium, he was going to keep me on it for 10 days a month for 3 months. Is this how Oragest works? They gave me enough for 10 days. She said they have to order it from a Pharmacy in Colorado (as this is the only place it can be obtained). Thank you so much for your help!!!!
-- Robin
