Reply: Lynn D. Montgomery, MD: "Re: Possible Bowel Obstruction??" Hello. I'm 22 years old and have endometriosis. I had my gallbladder removed in Feb. I have had chronic constipation for months now. Usually I take Metamucil and a stool softener (I tend to get fissures and hemorhoids easily now) and usually have a bm. If that doesn't produce on I take a laxative and that always produces a bm. My problem is I havent had a bm in about a week. I have taken Metamucil, stool softeners with laxative 2 doses and still have not had a bm. It worries me because it has never taken more than one dose to produce a bm and I have had more abdominal pain. Could this possibly be a bowel obstruction? or is this something I should keep trying to treat on my own?? Thanks for any info. Take Care and God Bless, AJ Next message: Lynn D.
