Abnormal pap

My Dr. just called and said that my recent Thin-prep pap test came back with possible abnormal cells.

My Dr. wants to repeat the test in 3 months(November)

In Aug 1998 I had an abnormal pap, resulting in cryotherapy treatment. Since then I have had normal paps.

My Dr. said that sometimes abnormal results are seen in women who have had previous cervical procedures. As mentioned before, he wnts to repeat the test in 3 months.

Is this a routine course of action? Should I be corncerned. I am worried that abnormal results have returned. I thought after nearly 3 years of normal paps everything was good.

Please Reply. Thanks!
