My 2 1/2 year old daughter was just diagnosed with a vaginal strep infection and a urinary tract infection (the strep was also in the urine culture). She is on amoxil and augmentin for 3 weeks -- is this a standard course of treatment? We were in Florida prior to her infection for 3 weeks, and spent most of the time in the ocean and in the pools. Could she have gotten it from the water or pool decks? Are there any possible complications or things to look out for in the future?Thanks--I'm having a hard time finding info on the internet.
