[Birth Control] a switch in BCPFrom: Christina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 5 Aug 2001 18:38:41 -0500 (CDT)
I had been taking Ortho Tri-cyclen for over a year. I noticed mood swings, headaches, and depression. When I finally mentioned it to a friend she suggested that I switch pills because she had the same problem until she switched to Orthocept. I called my OB-GYN, who was out for that week but I spoke with his nurse. She claimed that she had no idea of any correlation between the BCP I was taking and mood swing problems. I pushed the issue. She called me back the next week and said she spoke with my doctor and would call in a new prescription for me. She called in for OvCon 35, which appears to have the same dosage as Ortho Tri-cyclen! Did she even do me a service or just do something to pacify me? My mood swings are severe and come in what seems to be a weekly pattern. I need to get some stability back, I have been irrational for too long and cant help but to feel that the BCP has something to do with it, especially after having read similar complaints on the net.
