Colds, Menstruation, and the PillFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 31 Jul 2001 21:48:14 -0500 (CDT)
I have been on the pill, Demulen 1/35 on and off for 7years. I do not get a period, only when I go off the pill. I have explained this to my gyno, whom I have been with for 11 years, and he sees no reason to switch me onto another pill. However, over the past 13 months I have been getting a cold/flu everytime I finish my pills. When I was back in the States, I had a check up and explained this to the doctor. He never heard of this and suggested I take some aspirin a couple of days before I finish my pills. This has not helped... I have seen a doctor ,where I am currently residing. He has told me that again it is a cold and that most women at my age, 31, suffer from the common cold. Can anyone offer any advice, suggestions, or comments? I like to think I'm a fit healthy 31 year old. Who exercises, drinks(Lightly) and smokes(a pack a week), and lives a relatively stress less life. Thanks !! PS...I have checked this forum and found a one line response from the board's doctor stating "Depressed Immunity". That is a very serious condition. The percentage of recovering cancer patients suffer from.
