Atypical Pap AgainFrom: Anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 16:53:33 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, Thanks for reading my question. A brief history... last Fall (2000) I got my first ever abnormal Pap. It was CIN III. I had gone for a preconceptual visit to my dr. I am 29, in good health, and have had many years of clear Paps. My dr. did a colp and confirmed the CIN. A month later we did cryosurgery. My first followup pap in March 2001 came back all clear. I am still trying to conceive with no luck now for 6 months. I had my next followup Pap last week. It came back Atypical Of Undetermined Significance. I have read that this is not that bad. My dr. is on vacation and the nurse said I'd have to wait until he returned to see what he wants me to do. What would you advise if I was your patient? My. dr. gave me an rx for Clomid last week to start trying on my next cycle if I am not pregnant on this one. Is this abnormal Pap a reason to stop trying to conceive? Will I have to repeat the cryo for this? Thank you.
