Cystocele; rectocele and enteroceleFrom: Surena (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 31 Jul 2001 16:15:56 -0500 (CDT)
I have had two surgeries in the past fours years for removal of ovarian cysts. I noticed in my last op report that it stated I have a cystocele and rectocele but my doctor never mentioned this to me. I also have a dilation in my uretha but the urologist was unable to determine why at the time and considered my pain to be gynecological, which it was. During surgery it was discovered that I have a good amount of adhesions due to what is thought to be a past infection. In the last 6 months I have experienced low back pain that gets worse when I stand for a period of time or sit for a period of time. I do feel the need to urinate if I sneeze a lot or while doing certain activities even if I just emptied my bladder. I seem to get bladder infections easily. I'm just not sure what direction I should be taking with this. I'm not sure if this is something that I should worry about since my physician didn't mention the cystocele and rectocele after surgery or should I question her during my next appointment since I am now experiencing low back pain and often pain during intercourse. My uterus often feels swollen sometimes during the whole month and often times after intercourse if more than 2-3 x week. I would appreciate any advice that you could give me.
