Hi Laura, I do not know the exact stastics but as far as I am concerned you are never safe at any point from a stillbirth. I had my daughter at 38 weeks and she was stillborn. The causes of stillbirth are increased with smoking or conditions such as gestational diabetiaes and hypertension. Any more I may have forgotten I am sure someone on this board will tell you. I had hypertension which developed into preeclampsia. Just make sure you keep track of the baby movements and any changes you feel uncomfortable with report them to your doctor as soon as possible. I had never heard about stillbirth until this happened to me. I had my subsequent baby 10 months ago and my doctor took very good care of me. I changed doctors and hospitals after what happened with my daughter. Best of luck to you with your pregnancy.....Diane
