I want to help_ beta strep vaginitisFrom: Eva (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Jul 2001 09:03:51 -0500 (CDT)
I want to help women with group B strep vaginitis. In summer 1997 I have got Gardnerella and strep B (desquamative vaginitis). After courses of antibiotics, after a year and a half I succeded in getting rid of Gardnerella, but strep didn't go away. At that time I was thinking that I would never get rid of vaginitis. The Internet helped me a lot. I talk to professionals who had never heard about strep vaginitis and they have told me that strep B doesn't cause vaginitis (which it isn't true), but I also found articles about the management of this type of vaginitis treated with Clindamycin cream. In 1999 I took two courses of Clindamycin cream but, as a result, I have got a Candida vaginitis which I have treated with Macmiror complex 500. Now, after 4 years of hell, I am symptoms free. The adverse effects of Clindamycin cream and other antibiotics should be taken into account in the management of vaginitis.
