HRT is a very controversial topic, due to many immediate side-effects (weight gain, moodiness, irregular periods, hair loss, to name a few)-- and God knows what side effects we will see with long term use. I have been doing reading on natural progesterone cream vs. the scientific trial approved oral medications (such as premarin, provera, prometrium, etc.) I need to do something due to a thickened uterine lining. Provera or Prometrium was first suggested, by with my Doctor's blessing I have decided to try a compounded cream. Upon searching the archives on this site, I have found a few women who have had success with the progesterone creams, without the nasty side effects of the standard "oral" medications, tried and approved by the FDA. Many of the doctors have responded with not-so-favorable commentary on the "natural" progesterone creams, and also not-so-favorable opinion to Dr. Lee, who has not proven his natural approach through normal channels of the FDA and clinical studies, etc. Talking to women about HRT seems to be a logical way to find out what might work. I know everybody is different, but when you get a few women at a social gathering, the talk always seems to turn to health, weight, etc. I have heard so many unfavorable things about HRT...does ANYBODY have succes with progesterone replacement, in particular, the cream instead of oral medication? Thank you for your help! It is all truly confusing!
