Von Willebrand's -- different question thoughFrom: Samantha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 6 Jul 2001 22:10:03 -0500 (CDT)
I am scheduled for surgery July 16th (laparoscopy to look for endo). This is the first surgery I will be having since being diagnosed and I am worried about the cryoprecipitate that I will receive prior to surgery. I have had two surgeries in the past and in each case, a week following surgery I had a blood clot (one on my throat from a tonsilectomy, and the other underneath my gum from having my wisdom teeth removed). I know it is very important that I receive the cryoprecipitate, but I am worried about it working "too" well. My question is: what symptoms should I look for that may indicate that a blood clot has formed (I mean a blood clot that I need to be concerned about)? Thank you.
