My girlfriend is due to have one very soon and I was wondering if someone out there could answer some questions for me relating to the procedure Will I be allowed in the room when the procedure is performed? What type of instruments are used? Someone told me on another forum that something called a spreader is used to hold the vagina open while the procedure takes place, is this true? Does any gynecological preparation need to be done, ie pelvic exam, before hand?
