Decisions, Decisions

After 10 months of DUB with appropriate workups, now have MRI suggestive of adenomyosis and surgical consult scheduled in 2 weeks with my gyn.

First of all, I am not at all averse to hysterectomy - I'm tired of needing to be near bathroom when I'm bleeding. After 2 months on levlen, I seem to be able to control the timing, if not the amount of bleeding which offers me welcome improvement and gyn is letting me go continuous OC so I can have free summer. Problem is, when I do bleed, I have to stay home so I don't stain my clothing and everything else. I also have bronchospastic cough and if sudden with even partially full bladder, I wet my pants. And rectocele, that if not carefully managed (ie no iron supplements and plenty of fluids and fiber) gives me trouble, once requireing MD manual disimpaction. And I think I also have beginning of uterine prolapse because I can no longer use any tampon except OB's because the others are to long and protrude. So, I think probably hysterectomy with associated repairs is in order. Questions are:

1: These problems are not continuous just very controlling and embarrassing when they do occur - since I'm so close to menopause, should I just wait it out and they'll go away?

2. Will the pelvic relaxation get worse after menopause and I'll need surgery anyway but be much older and not as likely to heal as quickly?

3. Is regular gyn sufficient for all these repairs (I don't think I particlularly out of the ordinary) or should I insist on urogynecologist?

4. What questions should I be asking gyn at consult? I've only been seeing her for this as we just moved to this community 2 years ago.

Thank you.
