A repeat D&C after a miscarriage. After an ultrasound at 11 weeks into my pregnancy, I found out the fetus' heart stopped beating at 9 weeks. My doctor performed a D&C the very next day. I had the normal bleeding that comes after a D&C. It took almost 6-8 weeks before I had a period. But during this this whole time I had non-stop spotting and would pass clots. I went back into the doctor and she kept getting a positive reading for HCG. I had to go in weekly and the HCG level never went under 18. Now, after an ultrasound of the pelvis, it's apparent that there is still placental tissue evident. So.......according to my doctor, it's very likely that I will have to have another D&C.
