Evista and celebrexFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 20 Jun 2001 15:15:06 -0500 (CDT)
When I picked up my Evista prescription I asked the druggist if I could take Evista with Celebrex. He informed me that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should not be taken with Evista since they interfere with the absorption of Evista. My doctor had never heard of this and he cannot find any mention of it in the PDR. He tried calling the pharmacy but the pharmacist who had spoken to me was not on duty. The one he spoke to had never heard of this problem. I know I have read something about this on the internet but I cannot find it. There is a "drug resource" site that says to check with your doctor if you are taking ibuprofen or naproxen as they may interact with Evista. Do you have any knowledge of this? I don't want to take Celebrex if it is going to negate the effect of the Evista.
