Evista and heart palpitationsFrom: Midge (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Jun 2001 15:40:21 -0500 (CDT)
My doctor put me on Evista about a month ago and I have tolerated it very well (no leg cramps or increases in hot flashes) except for the fact that I have noticed lately that I have quite an increase in heart palpitations. I am taking a beta blocker to control the heart palpitations I experience due to mitral valve prolapse and it has controlled it very well until I started the evista. If I stop the evista they go away but they return as soon as I start taking it again. I can find nothing in the literature about the relationship between evista and heart palpitations and I know if I call my doctor he will shake his head and say he has no knowledge of such a thing. Has anyone else experience this?
