Prolapsed Bladder, now Rectocele

In early February, I had a 4 hour surgery for prolapsed bladder repair including what ever else needed attention. I was in the hospital for 3 days. Immediately upon arriving home, I became "SEVERELY CONSTIPATED". To this very day, exactly 4 months later. I tried to expain to my Uro-gyno Doctor/surgeon that something was terribly wrong. I am sad to say that for the past four months he had me to continue with Miralax, stool softners, Metamucil and high fiber diet. After a defogram last week, he told me I needed hernia/rectocele surgery ASAP due to my "severe constipation" problem. I CRIED!!!!!! WHAT HAVE I BEEN TRYING TO TELL HIM FOR 'FOUR' MONTHS????? Due to his tied up schedule, I am to have this second surgery mid-July therefore continuing with Miralax, stool softners(each daily) and Correctol (every 3 days).

He told me there was a chance that additional repairs would have to be made due to my "severity of straining". How many times during the last four months did I try to tell me "SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG"!!! After all, the most important two things that I was suppose not to do were 1.) no straining and 2.) no lifting.

Why was this not evident during the first surgery? Where did it come from? What is in store for me now? Will I be returned to normal after this second surgery so quick after the first surgery? What can I expect as far as after the surgery itself. I am so very scared...I hope you can understand why. By the way I am 47 and otherwise I assume OK health.....that is until now.

Thank you. Bee
