I have had the EXACT same phenomenon, with spotting. This occurrence is also related to my running. I have had every test in the book. The only think my doctors can deduce is that it is hormonal, and not to worry.

I too am trying to conceive so birth control pills are NOT an option. The spotting and cramping eventually subside after running, but it has me very curious.

My nutritionist claims it is hormonol...and has suggested I stop running. I will admit when I do stop for a small period of time, the cramps and spotting disappear.

I have looked for books on this subject, but either it isn't a very popular topic of conversation, or the medical community doesn't have a concerete answer to why this happens. I am 41 and this started when I turned 37. I guess there is something to be said about hormones!
