Edie, Stress is definetly a factor of IBS problems , it can also be cause by lactose intolerance, greasy food, and spicy food. Also, it can be a allergy reaction to certain foods. It can be also a lack of fiber in your diet. That means need more veggies. Here are some things to do : 1. Write on a paper what you eat and how quick you get that feeling . 2. Take some antacid before you eat any food that has greasy or spicy flavor to it . Take lactaid for lactose intolerance to milk that means milk chocolate candy too. 3. Eat more veggies and if you don't like veggies try a fruit juice or veggie juice. 4. Reduce Stress and how you do that is go do aerobics, walk, bike, do something for yourself, or spin around, or also meditation. 5. Go see your doctor.
