Do you get menstrual cramps during exercise? From: courtney (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Jun 2001 14:48:28 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I have read several women's accounts of the same symptoms and no one in the medical profession (that I have found thus far) seems to know what causes this or have a solution for it. I am including my contact information, so if you have these symptoms, maybe at least we can get a group of us to compare notes on what we've been able to discover. The symptoms are: *Severe cramps about 20 minutes into a fast paced or hill run. *Cramps are very intense and painful, sometimes I get sweating and nausea *I have to stop running, if I try to keep running they get worse. *Cramps last 15-20 minutes and then disappear *There seems to be no specific pattern related to the timing of my cycle *Symptoms do not persist when I'm on the pill - hormonal regulation seems to control the cramps *Cramps often tied to a bowel movement - one seems to get the other going. *After the cramps have passed, I can continue running, and actually ususally feel better and stronger. *We've been trying to get pregnant without success, don't know if this is related. If you'd like to email me directly, please do so at courtilini@hotmail.com Thanks,
-- Courtney
