Timing of Estradiol, FSH & LH tests

My doctor sent me a prescription to have my FSH, LH & Estradiol levels checked. I'm 43 & perimenopausal, with periods that come regularly, but now on a lengthening cycle. I requested the hormone level check because (a) I have severe vaginal burning in the absence of an infection (negative vaginal culture) and (b) I have nearly incessant hot flashes. Is there an optimal or correct time in my cycle to have these tests done? I was going to have it done on Monday (day 8 of my cycle), but if that's not right, could someone please let me know? My doctor went away on vacation, so I can't call him until the following week to ask him this question. Thank you!
