Vaginal infections or not?

I have recently been to my gyn and had my annual pap and a std screen done on me. Both came back clear and normal. My question is that while I was at the office visit my doc noticed a discharged and said it resembled an infection..so she cultured it and looked at it under the scope. She said she saw some WBCs which signals infection to me but all my tests came back normal. How can this be? I do have a discharge mostly all the time..it is white and sometimes shows up dried yellow on my underwear. No itching, smell, pain, or burning. Only time I do have some burning is during sex..what can this be from? I am taking Mircette bcps and we don't use a condom. My question is that if there was an infection down there wouldn't the pap test have showed some sort of irritation? I asked the nurse and she said sometimes our bodies produce WBCs as a precaution to an infection. My only problem with this is the burning during sex and the discharge can be annoying. Should I be worried..please help. thanks
