LH is a hormone from the Pituitary gland that when released in a surge at the time that a follicle is ready and ripe will cause that follicle to release an egg. Estrogen produced by the follicle is one of the things that tells the Hypothalamus in the brain that it is time to release LH-Releasing Hormone (LH-RH). LH-RH then tells the pituitary that it is time to release the LH. If you have been trying to get pregnant for 1-2 years without success, then you should see a Reproductive Endocrinologist. If you haven't, then you should relax and have fun while trying to get pregnant and don't worry about it.
