Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Irregular Periods" I am a 30 year old woman who has had one child. I had the IUD put in a little over a year ago, and since then, my periods have gone crazy!! I spot in between periods, I'll bleed heavily sometimes twice a month or for 2-3 weeks straight, I'll miss periods some months, I'll feel like I'm going to start a period at times because I get symptoms such as sore breasts, cramps, fatigue etc, but my period might not come for another 3 or 4 weeks. I've also been experiencing pain during intercourse ever since I had my daughter 6 years ago. I am very good about talking to my doctor and going for my annual exams. I've had an ultra sound to make sure my IUD was positioned properly, I go every year for my pelvic exam, and my doctor is aware of all my concerns. Still she tells me that she can't explain why this is all happening. Can you please help me out? Next message: R.
