Hormone Replacement Therapy

I had a hysterectomy with both ovaries removed. I was not given any hormone replacement therapy until months after my surgery. And then it was "here ya go, try this." I continued to complain about symptoms and was basically ignored.

I tried to get adjustments but was not taken seriously. I was told that most women do not need adjustments to their HRT, that I am a rare case and that women do well after having their ovaries removed, and if a women needs HRT, which is rare, that one patch or one pill, and some synthetic testosterone should do the trick. And because it is not working for me that I need an anti-depressant--Effexor.

During the past two years I have had the following symptoms (not all at once but some at the same time): heart palpatations, hot flashes, insomnia, acne, incontinance, weight gain, hair loss, excess hair, inability to concentrate, confusion, extremely low energy...

I had the hysterectomy when I was 42, I am now 44 and still having symptoms. I recently requested some blood work to check my estrodial and testosterone levels. My estrodial is 27, testosterone 160 and my sex hormone is not binding.

Is Effexor the best treatment for these symptoms?
