More Good News, Bad News...

The rest of the bad news would not fit...

During withdrawal phase of levlen, I developed asthma symptoms for first time. (Well, maybe not, during my last pregnancy 12 years ago, I had spirometry and breathing tx but results were equivocal.) I have yet to go through a second withdrawal phase on Levelen so I am not sure if asthma is related to hormone tx or not but is suggestive. We are going to try and withdraw bronchial steroids end of June but I am not very hopeful - I've had to use nasal steroids year round for past 10 years. I am now taking both nasal and bronchial steroids which puts me over the daily 400 whatever units it is that start to give systemic effects. I aready know my bone density is -1.47 and I am having stomach difficulty with tums and citrical so am having trouble taking the 1800 mg daily as prescribed. Also, my BP is starting to creep into the 140 - 150 range, up from 110 -120 and my lipids are less than stellar, just below the treatable range. So even though I generally feel better on the levlen, is OC not the best choice at this time? (this was used because MPA was not tolerable for me, the grocery store, my son, my husband or anyone else I had to deal with! and aygestin makes me sleepy no matter when I take it.) Any alternate suggestions?

Thanks again - I really am normally a healthy person - this "patient" stuff is all new to me!
