endometrial cancer possibilityFrom: A.R. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 29 May 2001 10:34:54 -0500 (CDT)
What is the possibility of me having endometrial cancer - I am 31. I had my first child at 28, and started having some light spotting between periods a few months later (when I was 29). This didn't happen every cycle. I had an ultrasound done around the time of ovulation, and my doctor said that it was normal (even though my lining was 8mm). Then I became pregnant with my second child. She was born almost 2 months ago. I have always had "regular" periods, although my cycles are longer than norm (about 40 days). I am not really concerned about cervical cancer because I have had several pap smears in the last few years, and all have been normal. I am just concerned about endometrial cancer because I have read that spotting between periods is a symptom. I am concerned that I will encounter this again now that I am no longer pregnant, and I wonder how concerned I should be. Any information/statistics (reassurances, if possible) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
