Hypothyroidism & FertilityFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netThu, 24 May 2001 15:20:05 -0500 (CDT)
Trying to get pregnant. BBT suggests anovulatory cycles. Have long periods (10-15 days). Have had numerous blood tests, all normal, with the exception of ongoing hypothyroidism. Endocrinologist just increased Levoxyl dosage on day 15. Now on day 40 (cycles usually 28-32 days). Have had tender breasts esp. nipples for the past week, which is unusual for me. Two negative pregnancy tests. Is it possible that the increase in Levoxyl stimulated a late ovulation or are my breasts just tender because my period is late? Also, how exactuly does un- or under-treated hypothyroidism affect fertility? Thanks for any info.
