Doctor's office ethics ... can I get a doctor's opinion???

I hope that this doesn't show up twice, I posted once and it never got to the board. I was supposed to have a doctor's appointment today for many symptoms that my old family doctor could not diagnose. I waited a month for a visit with this new doctor who was highly recommended to me. Anyway, I missed the appointment because I thought that it was at 11:00 but instead it was at 9:30 and I had missed it before the realization. Making appointments for the whole family ... it's hard to keep up! When I called in to see if they could get me in anyway because I am desperate, the receptionist told me that I would have to wait another month. I was so upset that I started crying right there on the phone! I had spent all morning writing down my symptoms of: hair loss, night sweats, fatigue, and the list goes on. Also my history, and I was eager to go. She did not ask any questions about emergencies or anything! She was rude, to say the least. My husband called back and could not get anywhere either until he asked to speak to a nurse. She then made an appointment for me for tomorrow but with another doctor. I promise you that my symptoms are running my life and I had my hopes set on this one particular doctor. As a doctor, would you want to know about this patient who was turned away for another month because of a mistake? What are the ethics here? I am very upset about this. Any advice? Thank you in advance for responses. Sonia Lewis
