Hair loss, night sweats, fatigue, mood swings, heavy periods ... hormone imbalance? From: Sonia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 20 May 2001 18:01:33 -0500 (CDT)
I have posted a couple of questions on here and would like to ask some more of your advice. I have many symptoms and it seems that there is more than just one thing going on with me. These symptoms that I am writing about today seem to go hand in hand and I am concerned because they totally control my life. I am losing my hair by the hand fulls every day ... it seems to get bad and then slow down but not normal by any means, for me. I sweat at night so bad that I wake up with my shirt soaked through with a pool of sweat in the curve of my neck, then I am shivering and can't get warm because of being wet. I have fatigue to where my muscles feel heavy. My mood swings are just uncontrollable and my periods are heavy and painful. I have had these symtoms for three years, ever since my son was born and I have been over them with my family doc ... he has given me two blood work ups that came out fine. checked thyroid twice and checked for diabetes. I have had one hormone test. Are there more tests that can be done? Could this be some kind of hormone imbalance? Possible PCOS? I have had cysts removed from my ovaries through laproscopy and again have a cyst inside my right ovary at the present time. I am considering getting a hyst because of pain and my periods putting me into bed. I am wondering if I found out that I had PCOS, would the symptoms stop if we took out the ovaries as well? My symptoms seem to be like menopause but I am 28 and my periods are regular. Weight is 110. Sonia Lewis
