HELP: EndometriosisFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 19 May 2001 09:28:43 -0500 (CDT)
Hello! I am a 21 year old student with Endometriosis. I was diagnosed at 18 by laporoscopy. I have a terrible trial of Lupron, which I will never take again, (have beginning stages of osteoperosis), one laser surgery and been on BC pills since 15yrs. old. The laser surgery really helped for the pain during the month, but during my period I feel the worst pain ever. I no longer see the doctor who put me on Lupron( I don't trust anyone who would not warn me about something so serious). My new doctor put me on Aygestin after surgery and it worked because it stopped my period altogether, but had too many side effects. Then I took Mircette. I was not happy with this choice at first(yeast, mood), but within a few months It was much better, all except during periods. I can't go to school, work, or even walk due to the pain. It only lasts a few days but it's terrible. My doctor says to try Lo/Ovrall28. Please give your opinion. Have you seen this pill work for this pain? What are the side effects? I gained 15 total pounds with Aygestin and Mircette, but it has remained constant. Will I gain even more and will the pain still remain during my period? Is there another way of stopping your period without Aygestin or drugs like Lupron? Please help. Thanks.
