Metro-Gel & Spotting

My doctor prescribed 5 days of Metro-gel for a slight vaginal bacterial infection. At that time he also said that I have some cervical ectropia, which he indicated was a normal variation, but could make my cervix produce more mucous and be more susceptible to infection -- is this something to worry about?

Also- I am on my third dose of Megro-gel and am experiencing a discharge tinged with blood. --- Is this something to be concerned about, or a typical reaction to the Metro-gel?

Thank you.
