'black spots' on ultrasound adenomyosis??-cause miscarriage???From: Dionne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 17 May 2001 12:09:06 -0500 (CDT)
I have just had my third miscarriage in a row. On my second pg the dr saw mysterious 'black spots' in uterine muscle, only a few. On my third pg they were there again, but more of them. Dr has never seen this and is consulting with other drs. She thinks maybe adenomyosis, and definately not fibroids. And if it is adenomyosis, it may or may not be the cause. All my other testing has come back normal. Dr may have me do an MRI. I don't have the symptoms of ade.., but do have long cycles and the last few before the third pg were heavier than normal. Also, although no proof of low progesterone was found, dr had me on prog. suppositories during last pg. My questions: What else could the 'black spots' on the ultrasound be? And if it is ade... could that cause my miscarriages? I am a mystery that I wish someone could solve! Thanks!!! Dionne Additional info if needed: 1st m/c: missed abortion at 10 wks, embryo aged 8 wks-had d&c. 2nd m/c: m/c'ed at 5 wks-no d&c went to specialist and did tests 3rd m/c: at 8 wks-so far no d&c required.
