Two years of breakthrough bleeding (bcp's)From: AJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 22:12:37 -0500 (CDT)
A little over two years ago I first started bcp's (ortho novum 777). After about 5 months or so I started experiencing breakthrough bleeding in my 3rd week, and no period at all on the "off" week. This would happen for 2 or 3 months in a row and then I'd be back on the cycle. I had to go to a different doc year #2 (insurance reasons) and she suggested I needed more progestin and changed me to ortho 1/35. I've been taking these for 4 months and here we are again... week 3 started my period, week 4 nothing. I called and she suggested if this was my only problem with this brand (it IS the only complaint) that I either just deal with it or try shortening the "off" to 4 pills before I start a new pack. Suggestions, comments? Thanks!
