Lower Abdominal Pain & BloatingFrom: Ani (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 21:51:01 -0500
In July of 1999 I had an emergency total hysterectomy. I had a very bad infection of which I felt no symptoms. One morning I was extremely dizzy, stopped breathing and passed out. My appendix kicked was removed also. Before they knew what was wrong, I had barium inserted into my intestine rectally. That hurt more than the pain from the infection. Almost two years later, the pain and bloating I experience before a bowel movement have become a part of life. If I do not urinate right away, it hurts as well. I feel as if something balls up in that area in my intestine and blocks. My legs feel swollen and as if I am retaining water. I have had an ultra sound done, and a cat scan of the area and they see nothing. I want the pain to stop. Any advice or ideas of what could be causing the pain and the feeling of having something in there that is blocking?
