24 AND CONFUSED 18 months ago I went to my doctor with sever pain in my lower abdomen, she sent me for an ultrasound, and my nightmare began. I was told I had a fibroid the size of a 16-week-old fetus, and would have to have a hysterectomy. I refused and asked is there anything else, so I was put on drug therapy for 1 year to try and reduce the fibroid, my life was put on hold cause I was so sick from the drugs but I stuck it out till the end, and it didn’t even work. Then I went for a second opinion and was referred to a third doctor to perform a uterine artery embalization, and 6 months later it to failed to help me. Now my doctors are saying a hysterectomy I don’t know what to do. I have no children and would love to have them as I am only 24. I thought my life ahead of me was to raise my own family and my dreams have being shattered.
