Re: exams for pelvic painFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Apr 2001 22:18:36 -0700 (PDT)
Dear Anon, You just let them know that painful exams make you uncomfortable. When I had a pelvic exam in Feb (we were supposed to have done a biopsy then) I asked my dr for some numbing agent and that helped to make it less painful. My exam was painful b/c of an infection I had going on as well as the fact that I have a condition called vulvodynia, and the infection made that condition much more painful. Please don't be afraid to ask for some numbing agent. Also, endometriosis can cause pelvic pain for some women and the only sure way to diagnose that is thru laparoscopy. Please feel free to e-mail me privately if you have more questions and I hope that this helps. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Yahoo!
