I can empathize with what Joyeve is saying here, but maybe in not as hostile a way. Too many people try to force the concept that woman=mother into every woman's mind. I think people don't give the idea of being a parent much thought, and only do it because that's what everyone else does only to find they're unhappy (esp when they hit the EMPTY_NEST Syndrome). Too many women are taught that their own worth is only in their ability to reproduce and that's just not true!! But I've seen so many women put all their efforts into child-rearing only to be depressed that they have lost themselves. So I understand what she's saying... There are too many people having kids that cannot be parents for whatever reason. And I must agree "mommy-talk" makes me ill.... you know these women have intelligence enough to switch gears from being mommy.. it's just that they've lost themselves. Take care Leah
