4 months post partum and vagina still doesn't feel rightFrom: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Apr 2001 11:53:46 -0500 (CDT)
I had my 1st, 7pound 4oz, baby in Dec and had a 7 hour labor with a mid-forceps delivery and an episiotmy. The Episiotomy was in the shape of a hockey stick. The OBGYN who delivered was not my Dr. who was away. I have been in to be checked out at least 6 times since, as I don't feel "right" in my vagina. It feels as though something is present there when I walk. It is uncomfortable and ruining my quality of life. Some days I feel okay but it can be disabling on other days. My OBGYN and nurse practitioner say they cannot find anything wrong except to say that it was the most unusual episiotomy that they've ever seen. As well I had to be re-sutured 6 weeks post partum as a muscle was missed when the episiotomy was done. Should I get a second opinion? I have been reading up on how I have been feeling and I am worried something is prolapsed. I am really rather desperate to have this resolved. Thank you L. J. MacK.
