The most likely diagnosis is a sebaceous cyst, an ingrown hair, or perhaps a Bartholin cyst. Sebaceous cysts are usually nontender, hard to pop, and release a waxy substance. Herpes produce multiple, usually white ulcers that are unbelievably painful to touch. Genital warts look like warts. Chancroid is common in tropical countries, but other than sporadic outbreaks in areas like New York and New Orleans, it is not very common in the US. It is a sexually-transmitted infection that causes painful ulcers (not bumps), and swollen lymph glands. It is probably more common in prostitutes and is more easily trasmitted by uncircumcised men.
