4 week post op pain from TAH

I am still having pain which I have to use narcotics for. I will be 4 weeks post op 4/3/01. I was taking Demoral and have been changed to percocets. I usually don't need the narcotics until late in the day and until then I pump up with Motrin or tylenol. Is it normal for pain such as this to continue into the 4 week mark? I have 3 percocet left so I will be calling for a refill tomorrow. Why is it that I was getting 30 Demoral and only 10 percocet? I thought the Demoral was stronger (was taking 100mg) The perc work just as good but it seems I am having to call in refills every few days. I don't want my Doc to think I am some kind of druggie (10 percs will last me about 3 days)but I am not imagining this pain. Once when I called for a refill a nurse told me I couldn't possibly be having pain at 3 weeks. Come to find out she didn't even give my Doc the message I called. I saw him 3 days later (after suffering) and he told me that it was perfectly normal to be in pain at week 3. Now I am in week 4 and dreading the call for the refill. I had a TAH 3/6/01 with no complications or bladder repair needed. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Regard, Stephanie
