Effects of taking 'the pill'From: Sharon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 17:42:24 -0600 (CST)
I was put on the birth control pill right after I had my first period due to the severe cramping and nausea I had. I was on the pill for about 10 yrs and recently took myself off of it. Since then I've felt like my hormones are out of whack. PMS type symptoms way before I get my period and now have very irregular cycles. Also have developed acne problems like a teenager! Was wondering if long-term use of the pill during puberty could have ill effects on a woman's hormones? (FYI-trying to stay off of birth-control now in an attempt to eventually get have a child.)
