Egg Donation after HysterectomyFrom: Taylor (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 09:16:07 -0600 (CST)
Hi, my question to the doctors is simple. Can I donate my eggs even though I have had a hysterectomy? I am 25 years old and have no family history of genetic disorders or diseases. I am perfectly healthy. I still have both my ovaries and I lost my uterus due to a uterine rupture during VBAC with my daughter's birth. The doctors could not repair my uterus so they had to take it out. I have very healthy ovaries and whenever I have had an U/S done of my ovaries the techs are amazed by the amount of developing follicles in my ovaries. So could I still be a good canidate for egg donation? Would any hospital looking for egg donors even consider me since I no longer have my uterus? I have 3 healthy, beautiful children and would love to give another woman who can't have children on her own the chance that I was given. Can someone please let me know on this. Thanks so much for your time!
