Perimenopause?

I am a healthy 35 y/o mother of two, recently diagnosed as perimenopausal. This diagnosis was achieved because of high LH and FSH levels and low testosterone. My periods are no different than they've always been (28 days almost exactly, lasting 5-7). I have been placed on bcp and EstraTest HS. I had been experiencing trouble sleeping, night wakings and hot flashes although I don't see much difference in these although I've been on the meds for 7 weeks now.

Could this truly be perimenopause or should I be concerned about other malady? What other tests should I push for?

Thanks in advance!
