Extreme Heavy Periods w/Clotting & Mood SwingsFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Mar 2001 09:44:51 -0600 (CST)
I had a pelvic laparoscopy and D/C in Jan. Found severe scarring and adhesions of ovaries and fallopian tubes. Had prolonged periods of bleeding for more than one month before and after surgery. This bleeding was a little heavy at times but nothing extreme. Was put on birth control pill therapy to control bleeding. The pills have resulted in a regular cycle. However, the bleeding is so heavy that I have to change pads every 2 hrs or less. This bleeding is accompanied by large clots and pain. This type of bleeding has been going on for 3 days now and is interfering with normal activities. I have also had extremely severe mood swings and depression. My doctor seems to think that I should stay on the pill another month to see if there are any changes.
