Re: HCG levels = miscarriage?From: beth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 23 Mar 2001 08:18:24 -0600 (CST)
I am so sorry.. I can just imagine how you feel. You are ringht, you will be alwyas worried out it when you get pregnant again, but chances are it WILL NOT happen. My cousin had an eptopic pregnancy and it did burst, but not long after she had a healthy and beautiful little boy. he is 6 months now. This will be an awful time for you, I wish I could say SOMETHING comforting! I will be thinking about you. Let me know how you are. My prayers are with you. Love, BETH > >Hi Beth, >I had my u/s this afternoon at the last minute. There was nothing in my >uterus at all. Basically my Dr. is pretty sure its an ectopic. yay >for me. I had two options, surgery to go in and check and remove it, or >methotrexate. If you don't know, I guess its a type of cancer drug >which will go in and terminate the pregnancy. That's very hard for me, >as I would never choose abortion, and that's what this essentially is. I >realize I have no choice however and it could burst and kill me. Its so >hard. But anyway I hope that my hcg levels drop after the drug, or else >I have to have the surgery anyway. Also, my chances of having an >ectopic were 1 in 100. NOw they go up to 12%. If I get pregnant again, >I'll always be worrying that this will happen again. Anyway, enough >rambling for today. Its sounds like you have a pretty good chance or a >normal situation and I am still hoping that for you. Talk to ya later. >H.
