The issues that could cause discomfort post HSG are predominantly either infection or if the tubes are obstructed, then distention of the tubes from the study could surely exacerbate pain. It would be pretty unlikely to perforate with a the common modes of performing an HSG, although it could certainly occur. Things that would be significant would be fever (>100.6) or bleeding vaginally or severe pain. If you are having any of these, I would not wait for the appointment, I would call now... Lynn
